Christ bore our sins for our sake (2 Cor 5:21), with God placing the weight of our transgressions on His Son—a profound act Pope Benedict XVI called “God turning against Himself.” This reveals a love that even reaches His enemies (Mt 5:43–48). Unlike idle, worldly chatter, the paschal mystery invites a deep, personal dialogue with God. Embracing it calls us to share, not hoard, and to stand with the suffering—whether victims of violence, injustice, or environmental destruction—rejecting greed and idolatry.
