The bodies of Rebecca Hughes, 32, and three children — Evelyn Newell, 8, Allison Newell, 6, and Amelia Newell, 5 — were discovered during a welfare check at a residence in Wolcottville, Indiana.
According to a statement from Indiana State Police, officers with the Wolcottville Police Department were dispatched on September 17, 2024, at approximately 11:20 a.m. to a home in the 100 block of South Main Street. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult female and three deceased children inside the residence. Indiana State Police were then notified and responded to the scene. Authorities have stated there is no threat to the public.
The exact cause of death has not yet been determined. The children’s father, Jonathan Newell, has created a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses.
