Kristi Noem’s surprising answer on ‘sexual relations’ with Corey Lewandowski was ‘final straw’ for Trump: report

Kristi Noem Confronted Over Lewandowski Question During Heated Congressional Hearing

A tense exchange during a congressional hearing has gone viral after Kristi Noem was asked directly about her alleged relationship with Corey Lewandowski. The moment unfolded during testimony before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee, drawing widespread attention online.

Noem was questioned about immigration enforcement policies and broader Department of Homeland Security operations, but the hearing took a sharp turn when Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove asked, “Did you have sexual relations with Corey Lewandowski?”

Noem firmly rejected the premise, calling it “tabloid garbage” and emphasizing that Lewandowski is a White House special government employee with no decision-making power at DHS. She has repeatedly denied any personal involvement with him, as has Lewandowski, and both are married.

Kamlager-Dove defended the question, saying it pertained to professional judgment and oversight, not private life. Later, Congressman Jared Moskowitz pressed Noem to deny the allegation on record, which she again refused, calling the claims “ridiculous” and long addressed.

The hearing came amid growing scrutiny of Noem’s handling of immigration policy. Days later, President Donald Trump announced she would be replaced as DHS Secretary by Markwayne Mullin, moving her to a newly created role as “Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas.”

Sources cited by the New York Post suggest Noem’s refusal to answer the Lewandowski question may have contributed to her removal. The incident underscores the high stakes and scrutiny surrounding leadership and immigration policy in the United States government.
