A Major Steakhouse Chain Is Shutting Down 261 Locations Nationwide

Logan’s Roadhouse abruptly furloughed its entire workforce as it moved toward closing 261 restaurant locations, a decision that surprised many employees already facing economic uncertainty. The shutdown left thousands of workers without jobs and raised questions about how businesses were responding to rapidly changing market conditions.

Unlike some restaurant chains that pivoted during downturns by expanding takeout and delivery services, Logan’s Roadhouse instead suspended operations across its locations. The move effectively paused business activity and eliminated staffing at affected sites, rather than attempting a scaled-back or restructured operating model.

The chain operates under CraftWorks Holdings, which also owns Old Chicago. The parent company’s decision to furlough employees and suspend certain benefits during the shutdown drew scrutiny and prompted broader discussion about corporate responsibility and worker protections during periods of financial stress and operational disruption.
