Rajee Narinesingh first drew worldwide attention after undergoing an illegal cosmetic procedure that injected dangerous substances—including cement, superglue, and tire sealant—into her face. The procedure caused severe disfigurement, thrusting her into international headlines and prompting cruel public nicknames that reduced her life to a shocking image.
But Narinesingh’s story extends far beyond the incident that first made her known.
Long before the procedure, she struggled with identity and acceptance while growing up. As a transgender woman, Narinesingh faced a society that often lacked understanding and access to safe medical options for people seeking gender-affirming changes.
Years ago, limited access to proper healthcare pushed some individuals toward underground cosmetic treatments. Believing the procedure would help her appearance better align with her identity, Narinesingh trusted someone offering an unlicensed injection. Her case eventually drew the attention of renowned reconstructive surgeon Terry Dubrow, who later helped repair much of the damage through a series of corrective surgeries documented on the TV show Botched.
