Putin gives Trump his three clear demands to end the war in Ukraine

One week after meeting President Trump in Alaska, Vladimir Putin has issued formal demands for ending Russia’s war in Ukraine: Kyiv must abandon NATO membership, bar Western troops, and withdraw from Russian-held areas of Donbas. In return, Moscow would freeze the front lines in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. While Trump expressed optimism about brokering peace, Ukraine has remained firm in refusing to cede territory, as NATO leaders continue talks on long-term security guarantees.
