Anna Faris Says Melania Trump Joke Was Cut From ‘Scary Movie 6’ for Being Too Harsh

Actress Anna Faris has revealed that a joke referencing Melania Trump was removed from the upcoming film Scary Movie 6 after filmmakers decided it went too far.
Faris, who reprises her role as Cindy Campbell in the latest installment of the long-running parody franchise Scary Movie, discussed the cut material in a recent interview. She said the scene was intended as part of a broader attempt to push the character into more politically charged humor, but ultimately did not make it into the final version.
According to Faris, the removed joke included a satirical reference to Melania Trump’s public “Be Best” initiative and a comedic monologue delivered in a drunken, exaggerated style. She described the concept as part of the film’s more extreme comedic direction, though she noted it was ultimately considered too provocative for release.
The Scary Movie franchise has long been known for parodying celebrities, politics, and pop culture figures, often pushing boundaries with its humor. However, filmmakers reportedly opted to scale back certain material in the new installment to avoid backlash.
Despite the cut, Faris said she appreciated the creative freedom she had while revisiting the role, adding that the franchise’s history of controversial humor remained intact in other parts of the film.
Scary Movie 6, released earlier this month, opened strongly at the box office, continuing the series’ long-running commercial appeal.
