Scientists Discover Adorable Spiky Newborn Animals in Protected Habitat

Hope is returning to Australia’s wilds! At Mt Gibson Wildlife Sanctuary, conservationists are celebrating the birth of newborn western quolls—once nearly extinct. These carnivorous marsupials, roughly the size of a house cat, had vanished due to habitat loss and predators.
Thanks to reintroduction efforts, the quolls are not just surviving—they’re thriving, reproducing, and helping restore balance to the ecosystem.
