Family of 24-Year-Old With Dementia Shares Early Warning Signs to Raise Awareness

The family of Andre Yarham, a 24-year-old from Norfolk, England, is raising awareness about frontotemporal dementia (FTD) after his death on December 27, just over a year after being diagnosed at age 22.
FTD is a rare form of dementia that mainly affects behavior, personality, and language rather than memory, often delaying diagnosis—especially in young people. Andre’s health declined rapidly, eventually affecting his mobility and speech.
His family has donated his brain to medical research and hopes his story will help others recognize early signs of young-onset dementia and support continued research.
