The Food Network chef died at age 55 on June 17 at her Brooklyn home, authorities confirmed. The New York City medical examiner ruled the death a suicide caused by acute intoxication from a combination of substances.
Police found her unresponsive in the shower, and emergency responders were unable to revive her. An NYPD spokesperson confirmed the response, and a 911 report noted the caller believed she may have suffered cardiac arrest.
