Three key names lawmakers confirm were in the unredacted Epstein files

Lawmakers are renewing pressure for transparency after newly unredacted Epstein files added details about people mentioned in federal records. The Justice Department has begun releasing more material from its massive archive—while still shielding victim identities—following months of political and public scrutiny.

Some members of Congress argue earlier redactions went too far and obscured potentially important names, limiting public understanding of Epstein’s network. DOJ officials counter that privacy laws require protecting victims and personal data, saying all legally releasable non-victim information has now been disclosed and that the department remains committed to transparency.

Ghislaine Maxwell remains the only person criminally convicted in the trafficking operation. She is serving a 20-year federal sentence for recruiting and grooming underage girls, a role documented extensively in court records.
