Masterful painting of Jesus by 8-year-old rescued from the shadows

Akiane Kramarik’s iconic painting “Prince of Peace”, created when she was just eight, has finally returned to the public eye 16 years after being stolen, mistakenly sold, and locked away. Now 28, Akiane—a best-selling author, entrepreneur, and philanthropist—is celebrated for her spiritually inspired artwork, often described as otherworldly.

From a young age, Akiane experienced visionary inspiration that compelled her to depict profound spiritual figures. Though her family was not religious, she began speaking about God and illustrating her visions through poetry and painting. The “Prince of Peace” was inspired by a carpenter who appeared at her family’s door, serving as the model for her ethereal portrait of Jesus.

Despite early acclaim—including an appearance on Oprah—the painting faced a tumultuous journey. It was stolen, returned damaged, mistakenly sold, and locked away in darkness. Undeterred, Akiane continued creating new masterpieces and sharing her message of peace and spirituality around the world, selling over 100,000 prints of “Prince of Peace” to keep its legacy alive.

In 2019, a private, anonymous family purchased the original for $850,000, pledging to protect it for generations. Finally reunited with her creation, Akiane described the moment as surreal and filled with love: “It was amazing to me. To be able to see this into the light again, after so many years…Love is so powerful. It will always show up on time to people who need it most.”

“Prince of Peace” is now on exhibit at the Belóved Gallery in Marble Falls, TX, offering audiences the chance to experience the masterpiece that has inspired millions.
