Television personality and dermatologist Sandra Lee has revealed that she suffered an ischemic stroke while filming a spin-off of her medical series. She initially dismissed early symptoms as something minor, but later developed more serious signs including one-sided weakness, difficulty speaking, and problems with coordination.
She was taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed she had experienced a stroke caused by a blockage of blood flow to the brain. Lee described the experience as disorienting and frightening, especially as it progressed quickly while she was still working. She later underwent physical therapy and paused filming for about two months to focus on recovery.
Since returning to work, Lee says she is largely back to normal but remains more attentive to her health. She has used her experience to raise awareness about stroke symptoms and the importance of acting quickly, highlighting the FAST warning signs—face drooping, arm weakness, speech difficulty, and the need for immediate emergency response.
