‘The Facts of Life’ Star Mindy Cohn Opens Up About Private Cancer Battle

Actress Mindy Cohn, best known for her role as Natalie Green on The Facts of Life, has revealed she is once again battling cancer after previously overcoming the disease. The Los Angeles native rose to fame during the show’s nine-season run from 1979 to 1988, earning widespread recognition for her warm, relatable performance. She later continued her career in television, including a recent appearance on Palm Royale.
Cohn was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 but kept her condition private at the time. She later shared that she initially noticed extreme fatigue during a walk and reached out to friend Helen Hunt before seeking medical care. After undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, she was declared cancer-free in 2017.
Now 59, Cohn says she is focusing on treatment and recovery following a new diagnosis, explaining her recent absence from public life in a social media post. She expressed gratitude for her medical team and determination to heal, while drawing support from fellow entertainers including Rosie O’Donnell, Jerry O’Connell, and Vicki Lawrence. Her announcement has also renewed attention on the importance of early detection and strong support systems for those facing serious illness.
