Burial or Cremation? What Scripture Teaches About Life After Death

Many believers wrestle with cremation not as a technical choice, but as a spiritual one. The Bible doesn’t give a direct command for or against cremation, though burial is the practice most often described in scripture and has long symbolized honor and hope in resurrection.
At the same time, many theologians stress that Christian faith doesn’t depend on the physical condition of the body. The core belief is that divine power isn’t limited by burial method. Whether through time or flame, the body returns to dust — and hope rests in renewal beyond death, not in the process itself.
