The Simpsonville community is mourning the loss of 8-year-old Lionel Ramirez Cervantes, a second-grader at Bells Crossing Elementary, who went missing after leaving school on September 12, 2024. Despite a rapid search by authorities, Lionel was tragically found in a nearby body of water. His mother expressed heartbreak and gratitude for the support received. Remembered as a joyful and loving child, Lionel’s passing has deeply impacted his school and community, who now rally around his grieving family.
