Inside the last hours of Noelia Castillo Ramos!

The death of Noelia Castillo Ramos is intensifying international debate over assisted dying laws, particularly in cases involving both physical disability and severe mental health conditions. The 25-year-old Barcelona resident died through legal euthanasia following a prolonged period of suffering, a decision that was challenged by members of her own family in a closely watched legal battle. Her case has since become a flashpoint in ongoing discussions about the ethical and legal limits of assisted dying.
Authorities and medical sources indicate that Ramos had endured a series of traumatic events, including two sexual assaults—one of which reportedly occurred while she was under the supervision of a state-run facility in 2022. In the aftermath, she attempted suicide by jumping from a fifth-floor window. Although she survived, the incident left her paralyzed from the waist down and living with chronic, debilitating pain that significantly impacted her quality of life.
