Actor James Ransone, known for his role as Ziggy Sobotka on The Wire, has died at 46. He was found unresponsive at a Fairfax, Los Angeles property on December 19. Authorities reported no signs of foul play, and his death was later ruled a suicide.
Born in Maryland, Ransone discovered acting early after struggling in traditional schools. He was the son of Joyce and James Finley Ransone II, a Vietnam War veteran, whose experiences deeply affected the family.
