April 2025 – Tragedy has struck Texas law enforcement, with four police officers passing away within just six weeks, leaving communities, colleagues, and families in mourning. The most recent loss, Officer Brian Edwards of the Houston Police Department, a 15-year veteran known for mentoring youth and supporting his colleagues, occurred in late March. Earlier, Officer Sara Ramirez of Dallas, Officer James Mitchell of Austin, and Officer John Thomas of San Antonio—all dedicated officers with years of service and strong community involvement—also tragically passed away. These deaths highlight the immense pressures and emotional toll faced by those serving on the front lines.
