You Shouldn’t Ignore These Signs: When Your Body Is Trying to Tell You Something

Late-stage stomach cancer (advanced gastric cancer) can cause symptoms that often appear after the disease has spread beyond the stomach. Some of the main warning signs include:
1. Unexplained weight loss
Losing weight without trying can be an early red flag.
2. Persistent abdominal pain
Ongoing discomfort in the upper stomach that doesn’t improve.
3. Difficulty swallowing
Pain or trouble swallowing, especially if the upper stomach is affected.
4. Frequent vomiting (sometimes with blood)
Vomit that contains blood or looks like coffee grounds requires urgent medical care.
5. Blood in stool or black stools
This may signal internal bleeding.
6. Extreme fatigue and weakness
Chronic bleeding can lead to anemia and severe tiredness.
7. Jaundice
Yellowing of skin or eyes may occur if cancer spreads to the liver.
Additional symptoms may include loss of appetite, feeling full quickly, abdominal swelling, nausea, or enlarged lymph nodes.
Important: These symptoms can also be caused by ulcers, infections, or other conditions. Having one or more does not automatically mean cancer. However, persistent or worsening symptoms should never be ignored.
If you or someone you know is experiencing unusual or ongoing symptoms, seek medical evaluation from a qualified healthcare professional. Early assessment can make a major difference in treatment options and outcomes.
