Spanish matador shares gruesome details of awful injuries after ‘most painful goring ever’

Spanish bullfighter Morante de la Puebla is facing a lengthy recovery after suffering serious injuries during a performance in Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza, one of Spain’s most प्रतिष्ठित arenas.

The 46-year-old matador, widely regarded as one of the sport’s most influential figures, was gored mid-performance in an incident that quickly turned into a medical emergency. He was rushed from the ring and underwent hours of surgery following the attack.

Speaking from his hospital bed, Morante described the immediate aftermath as both painful and frightening. He recalled realizing the severity of the moment as the bull caught him off guard after several earlier passes had gone smoothly.

Despite initial fears of heavy bleeding, he later said there was some relief upon reaching the infirmary and understanding the extent of the injury more clearly. Still, he described the incident as the most painful goring of his career.

Recovery has proven difficult. The matador reported ongoing pain, trouble sleeping, and a lack of appetite as he remains under close medical supervision. The nature of the injury is expected to keep him out of the ring for an extended period.

The घटना has also reignited debate around bullfighting in Spain. While the centuries-old tradition continues to draw large audiences, critics—including animal welfare advocates—have renewed concerns about the risks to both performers and animals, calling for stricter regulations or outright bans.

For now, the focus remains on Morante’s recovery, as supporters across the bullfighting world await updates on his condition.
