U.S. Justice Department Reports Major Breakthrough in Operation Targeting Online Child Exploitation Networks

The U.S. Department of Justice has announced the conclusion of a major international law enforcement effort known as Operation Grayskull, which focused on dismantling online platforms used to facilitate child sexual exploitation.

Officials said the operation was conducted in coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and multiple international partners, targeting encrypted networks operating on the dark web. These platforms were described by investigators as highly organized and designed to evade detection while distributing illegal material.

According to federal authorities, the investigation led to multiple convictions and the shutdown of several major criminal websites. Prosecutors stated that 18 individuals were convicted in connection with the case, with sentences ranging from long-term imprisonment to life sentences depending on the severity of their involvement.

Law enforcement officials emphasized that the operation reflects ongoing global efforts to combat online child exploitation. They reiterated that individuals involved in such crimes will face aggressive investigation and prosecution as agencies continue to expand international cooperation in cybercrime enforcement.
