Amazon Driver Hailed as Hero After Interrupting Hammer Attack and Saving Woman’s Life

An Amazon delivery driver is being praised for his quick actions after reportedly saving a Minnesota woman’s life during a violent domestic attack.

The incident happened May 11 in Wyoming, Minnesota, when the driver arrived at a home to deliver a package. According to court documents obtained by local media, the driver became alarmed after hearing screams coming from inside the residence.

As he approached the home, the driver reportedly discovered a woman covered in blood and her husband allegedly holding a hammer. Authorities say the driver intervened immediately, forced his way inside, and ordered the man to drop the weapon before calling 911.

Emergency responders later arrived and found the woman suffering from serious injuries. Investigators said she had allegedly been struck multiple times in the head with a hammer, leaving severe wounds and skull indentations.

According to investigators, the 78-year-old suspect later admitted he had planned to kill his wife. Police said he told officers the attack was connected to financial concerns involving his business and fears about his wife living on reduced Social Security benefits.

The suspect has since been charged with premeditated attempted first-degree murder and assault.

Authorities say the delivery driver’s intervention may have prevented the attack from becoming fatal.

In a statement shared publicly, the Wyoming Police Department praised the driver’s actions.

“The witness’s actions contributed to bringing the situation to an end and assisting the victim,” the department said. “We look forward to recognizing those efforts at an appropriate time.”
