Horror Footage Captures Moment Twin Earthquakes Devastate Venezuela as Fears Grow Death Toll Could Soar

Shocking footage circulating online has captured the terrifying moment two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela’s northern coast, triggering widespread destruction and a rapidly escalating humanitarian crisis.
The twin quakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude and occurring less than a minute apart, are among the strongest earthquakes to hit Venezuela in more than a century. The epicenter was located near the coastal city of Morón, with severe damage reported across Caracas, La Guaira, and surrounding regions.
Officials have confirmed at least 164 deaths and nearly 1,000 injuries, but authorities warn the toll is expected to rise significantly as emergency crews continue searching collapsed buildings and inaccessible disaster zones.
Particularly hard hit was the state of La Guaira, where entire neighborhoods were reduced to rubble and critical infrastructure suffered extensive damage. La Guaira has been declared a disaster zone, with hundreds of buildings reported collapsed and thousands of residents displaced.
The devastation also forced the closure of Simón Bolívar International Airport after runways and terminal facilities sustained major damage, disrupting transportation and complicating relief efforts. Schools have been closed nationwide, while stadiums, hotels, and public buildings have been converted into emergency shelters for families fearful of aftershocks.
Seismic experts have issued alarming projections, with modeling from the U.S. Geological Survey indicating a significant probability that the final death toll could exceed 10,000 if large numbers of people remain trapped beneath collapsed structures. Those estimates remain preliminary and do not represent confirmed casualties.
International rescue teams and aid organizations from across the region are mobilizing to assist, while local volunteers continue digging through rubble in a desperate race against time.
As dramatic videos show buildings shaking violently, streets cracking apart, and residents fleeing in panic, Venezuela now faces one of the deadliest natural disasters in its modern history. Rescue operations remain ongoing, with hopes that more survivors can still be found beneath the wreckage.
