Inside source shares major update on Nancy Guthrie’s abduction

Authorities are continuing to investigate the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of Savannah Guthrie, and new details suggest her case may not have been a planned kidnapping. An inside source told AZFamily that investigators now believe the incident could have been a burglary gone wrong. Former law enforcement experts who reviewed doorbell camera footage also said the situation “did not appear to be a planned kidnapping,” and authorities remain hopeful Nancy may still be alive.

Investigators are awaiting DNA results from a Range Rover SUV towed from a Tucson-area parking lot, whose driver was briefly detained and released. Meanwhile, the FBI announced that a glove found about two miles from Nancy’s home contains DNA that appears to match a suspect seen on doorbell footage tampering with her front door. The glove was sent to a private lab in Florida, and preliminary results have been received, pending quality control and confirmation before entering the profile into the national database.

Doorbell footage shows a masked man, about 5’9” with a medium build, carrying a 25-liter backpack, slowly approaching Nancy’s porch. Blood was discovered on her front porch, and ransom notes demanding payment in Bitcoin were sent to local news outlets, though deadlines have passed without contact. Nancy’s daughter, Savannah, shared a heartfelt Instagram message appealing to anyone with information, urging them to do the right thing and expressing hope that her mother is alive.

Authorities have warned residents to expect heavy police activity as the investigation continues. While questions remain about the motive and suspect, law enforcement remains cautiously optimistic about Nancy Guthrie’s safe return.
